Ash, thank you for this reminder to be human in writing a newsletter. I keep thinking I should use it as a vehicle to ‘sell’ a specific topic but really it’s more about letting people get to know me and exploring. ☀️
Isn't it so true?! Think about what you're attracted to reading in your inbox! I do like interesting takes & opinions that can help me draw conclusions of my own, but I hate "content." Especially by faceless companies.
I'll have to post photos as I experiment! WILL PROBABLY BE HORRIFIED AND THINK IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE PEPTO BISMOL ONCE IT'S UP, but to hell with it, I want to have fun!
Please post photos!! I love pink on the inside and outside of houses. The bolder the better otherwise can run the risk of lfeeling like you're living inside your intestines. Colour is fun! Go for it I say.
And I love that you are doing the profit first system for your business finances.
I have been doing mine manually for over a year now. My bank does allow me to set up schedules to automate most of this (although I need to specify actual amounts, it can’t do a percentage of what’s there sadly), but I like to do the transferring manually and connect with what’s in each account.
Hahaha let's just say that TD Bank—my normal one for personal and business—is not America's most convenient bank. 🤣 I can transfer money, but it's not automatic, and like you said, I have to designate the amount. LOVE the percentage option, and also love fast & easy wires. (Also something I've had to drive in person to a TD Bank to facilitate....many times, lol.) Do agree with you that manual can be helpful though, since you're always looking your financial health in the face! I do this with YNAB.
Omg Elle, Relay seriously is finally a modern business bank. Like...what??? TD Bank is my usual, and they are *awful* for any type of modern features that real businesses would need.
Also, POOKY FOR THE WIN!!! I want 700 more! And I hope they come out with batteries that last even longer, bc i'm obsessed with having it on.
When you were writing about taxes, Hannah Cole of Sunlight Tax came to mind as someone we should all know. She has an amazing podcast, YouTube channel, and a comprehensive course on the money side of business that is a dream come true! She’s an artist who got fed up with how accountants would treat her and went back to school for accounting to learn all the things about what creatives need to know about finances. She’s very clear, relatable, and a truly amazing person. Giving Hannah Cole of Sunlight Tax a shout out just because she’s a goddess sent ray of hope.
You know what, Ash? You're always right on time. And, I swear you're psychic. I was just looking at rechargeable sconces online last week for my very dark and creepy hallway.
The prompts are top notch and just juiced my creativity for future writing! Thanks!

Wireless sconces are fantastic, right? I LOVE that company. And Relay, where have they been all our internet lives?????! It's about damn time!

Relay looks interesting! I recently found Zylvie to replace my shopping cart and might make a move to Relay now too!
Haven’t heard of Relay before! Thank you!

OMG, highly recommend! They are fantastic!!!! (And you can swap out the lampshades when you get antsy, like I am prone to do. 🤣)
