You are not gonna believeeee this!
So far today, I’ve gotten emails from:
A woman in Oban, Scotland 🏴 who wants to start a local newsletter with me this spring (YES!!!! One of my favorite little seaside towns!) (And not just because of the distillery. 👀)
A woman in Portsmouth, New Hampshire 🌊 who wants to start a local newsletter with me this spring (ANOTHER one of my favorite seaside towns!)
A man in a very cool neighborhood in Minneapolis who wants to do a local NEIGHBORHOOD newsletter with me this spring, catered specifically to the arts 🎨 crowd (omgggg)
A woman who runs a bike shop 🚴♀️ in a neighborhood in Chicago who ALSO wants to start a local newsletter with me to promote adventure sports
A woman in Australia 🇦🇺 who signed up to start a local newsletter with me this spring to help attract local veterans to her organization 🎖️
…And a bunch more lovely individuals who signed up already who I haven’t even had a chance to chat with yet—isn’t this SO COOL???
I keep telling everybody that if they would ever be interested in having me out for a week to launch their local newsletter together, I’d be so game. 🤣 I mean, could I MAKE a better dream job for myself? (I’m dead serious.)
Oban, Scotland?
Portsmouth, New Hampshire?
Working on newsletters with the breeze in our hair? Before going down to the town pub for a stew?
YES, PLEASE.
(Oh, and not to forget about the very cool woman who emailed me and already runs an amazing local foodie magazine in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and wants to get even more into the local newsletter game. 💪)
So, this is my call to the universe (I hear people do this)—more of this, please! Let’s bring our voices to our neighborhoods and make things better for the places we live…and change the hell out of things.
…All while creating a very real and tangible business asset for ourselves. (That you can 100% sell as a business asset at any point, if you decide.)
Whether you live in a small town or a neighborhood in big city, doesn’t matter. Neighborhoods are just like towns! And, if you want to use it to promote the arts, or adventure sports, or veterans affairs, or something else—I got you.
Looking forward to even making some special interest chat groups. 💥
This is going to be the experiment of the year. 🧨
I hope to work with you this spring!

If you want more information on the program before pulling the trigger—and you also want to make sure you’re on the list to get the free guide to starting a local newsletter in your town (releasing soon)—make sure you specifically add your email over here. I don’t want Substack to get mad at me for telling you too much about this project. I’m just SO EXCITED.
Okay, that’s it for now. See you tomorrow for my regular Friday column for paid subscribers!
Thanks for being here.

I love local! I started boozefreeindc.com 5 years ago because I wanted my town (DC metro area) to have access to non-alc options :)
