That is a very good question and I feel that way 99% of the time myself, running two businesses, taking care of everyone, horses, dogs, and then someone wants me to go to town to shop? I hate shopping, I don’t like crowds and at Christmas time I want to hide, drink wine, watch lame Hallmark Christmas movies. πŸ™‚ But I am the same as you. When I’m there with someone I”m fully there. I like my people, just not everyone else. This is why I live in the woods lol. I would have liked your neighbor. I have a few just like him. I’m with him on the barn!

    • Ash Ambirge says:

Was just talking about you yesterday!! Have you seen The Last Frontier yet? Takes place in Alaska. πŸ™‚ Was telling friend that I actually knew someone who knows how to do the sled dogs!!!!!

Can’t wait for tomorrow, btw. Because for that? I AM FULLY THERE. And, I am looking forward to it!

      • Melanie E says:

Oh yes I have watched it all and love it, lol. It’s not 100% accurate to Fairbanks, and the majority of it was filmed outside of Alaska but there are shots of Fairbanks where I go, oooh ooh I know where that is. LOL. The one bar they hang out in is not the actual bar here but they got the name right! They actually did a pretty good job of having details correct. You must come visit so we can take you for a ride with the sled dogs. Our friend was just on Fox Weather. He’s an Iditarod racer and he filmed the northern lights while mushing the other night in our neighborhood! I can’t wait for tomorrow either. I panicked today and thought I missed it lol.

  2. Maggie D says:

This one resonates hard. I feel seen.

  3. Jorunn Hernes πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄ says:

Oh to have a neighbour like Roger. And thank you for this post. I kill small talk for fun.

  4. Theres Kull says:

I love this so much. Having 1tsp of energy per day to give. They feel like more of you are there, really there.
    Enjoy your whiskey!

  5. Zoe Zuniga Creations says:

I always liked DEAD. Passed makes me assosiate it with passing gas. and dying is kind of gross because we do let it all out when we die. it is a smelly messy affair. Also children get confused when you use euphemisms. just be clear that the person is not coming back. Yes, energy is so important. Must not squander on stupid things we do not like. I am still recovering from years of jobs I hated and resisted. Now that i have finally quit, I give myself another year of recovery time until I am fully back to normal.

  6. Julie says:

So good Ash!!! Imagine how much harder this is on empaths. They are giving tsp to everyone!

    I’m now wondering – am I taking someone’s tsp?

    Enjoy the whiskey!

  7. Lisa says:

I subscribe to you on two accounts, and only pay for this one and so when I originally started reading this from my non-paying subscription, I got up to the paywall and was thankful for the forced stop because I was sobbbbinngggggg. Omg. Cause Roger. And death (dead parents club over here ✌️) and I was thankful for the moment of grief wave, although unexpected.

A Mother’s Day card I sent my mom the May before she died (in July) was returned to me because I effing forgot to fill in her PO Box number *face palm*. I kept it in my car with a sincere intent to resend it, especially because it was a card I got in the UK with mum replacing the word mom and duh… how cute.

Anyway, I’m so glad I read the rest of the post today. It helped me feel so much less alone. My teaspoon is like half a teaspoon and I’ve experienced The Guilts for feeling so protective over the energy in my spoon lately and your words made me feel better about it, especially because I, too, am WITH you when I’m with you.

I’m a huge proponent of/for slow living, and so my 1/2 to 1 tsp of energy goes to the things that matter most, and right now it’s not a ton of people. Ha.

  8. Barbara Murphy-Shannon says:

Oh Ash, so sorry about Roger. I loved hearing about him. He embodies that neighbor we have had or will have. Do you remember the movie City Slickers and when Jack Palance (Curly) told Bill Cryal the meaning to life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PunAKEccqyU
I live and die by it. Love you GFβ€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή
